SUMMARY:From Making to Sharing: Calm Crafting & Creative Visibility
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Madhubani Artist\, Harsha Basu to the new We Make Wycombe Arts Hub for an evening of networking and calm crafting \n\n\n\nAs part of Mental Health Awareness Week (11-17 May)\, we’re pleased to share an upcoming session bringing together creative practice\, wellbeing and a practical next step for artists working in Buckinghamshire.\n\nFrom Making to Sharing: Calm Crafting & Creative Visibility\n\nLed by artist Harsha Basu\, the session begins with a calm\, mindful introduction to Madhubani painting – a traditional Indian art form rooted in storytelling\, nature and repetition. This first part creates space to slow down\, focus and engage in a hands-on creative process.\n\nBuilding on this\, the second part of the session gently shifts towards application. Participants will be invited to reflect on how experiences like this could translate into activities for others – particularly in the context of Mental Health Awareness Week.\n\nWe’ll explore simple questions such as:\n\nWhat could you offer?\nWho would it be for?\nWhere might it take place?\n\nTom Stowe\, from Bucks Guide\, will introduce how local platforms can support visibility for events and activities\, and how practitioners can share their work with wider audiences across the county.\n\nThis is not a formal training session\, but a light\, guided opportunity to connect creative practice with potential next steps.\n\nBy the end of the session\, participants will have:\n• taken part in a calm\, creative experience\n• reflected on the relationship between making and wellbeing\n• explored a simple idea they could develop further\n• awareness of a local platform to share their work\n\nWe hope to see you there \nTime: 1800-2000 \nCost: Free \nWheelchair accessible \nTickets available here
