Open Weekend(s) 2026

Roots, Rhythms & Rituals
Explore workshops, performances, exhibitions, heritage experiences and family-friendly activities across Buckinghamshire.
Open Weekend(s) returns this August for its sixth year, bringing together artists, museums, heritage organisations, community groups and creative spaces for a county-wide celebration of culture.
Taking place across three long weekends — 14–16 August, 21–23 August and 28–30 August — this year’s theme, Roots, Rhythms & Rituals, celebrates the people, places and traditions that shape Buckinghamshire. From discovering local stories and trying hands-on creative activities to enjoying live music, exhibitions and performances, there will be something for all ages to enjoy.
Whether you’re planning a family day out, looking for something new to experience, or keen to explore culture closer to home, Open Weekend(s) offers plenty of opportunities to discover Buckinghamshire throughout August. New events are being added regularly, so keep checking back to see what’s happening near you.
