Tower Tours and Cream Teas

A weekend of cream teas and tours up the church tower to see Burnham and its environs in all it’s glory, and imagine the Burnham of old..
St. Peter’s in Burnham will be opening it’s doors to all for tours up the church tower; giving people the chance to experience the incredible views of Burnham and the surrounding area (as far as Bracknell on a clear day!) To tie in with the Open Weekend theme of Stories and Nature, participants will be given a map of the Burnham of old, where they can try and imagine what the area looked like hundreds of years ago. St Peter’s church has been a constant in Burnham’s evolving story, and as part of this event they will be encouraging the community to donate towards repairs to their tower clock which requires a new mechanism. After surveying the views from the tower, they will be offering cream teas in the church hall where there will be a display showcasing their eco involvement and informing people how to get involved.
Accessibility: The church building itself and Cornerstone centre are wheelchair accessible. The church tower however is steps only and very steep.
