Snapshot – Insight into Sector Support and Impact
An Invitation to Participate
Bucks Culture is delighted to announce the development of a new short documentary film, Snapshot, capturing the creativity, impact, and challenges of the cultural sector in Buckinghamshire.
This exciting project invites artists and creative organisations to collaborate with us in bringing to life the stories, ideas, and energy that define our county’s cultural landscape. Through a combination of filmed pitches, project footage, and reflective interviews, Snapshot will provide a rare behind-the-scenes look at the artistic process — from concept and community engagement to delivery and performance.
About the Project
Snapshot is designed to celebrate and strengthen the creative ecosystem of Buckinghamshire. The film will explore the peaks and troughs of community-based arts delivery, shining a light on the partnerships, perseverance, and passion driving our cultural sector.
Through a series of short films and one full-length feature, we’ll document the sector’s journey — exploring how Bucks Culture supports artists to refine their practice, collaborate, and identify opportunities for growth and training.
How It Works
Filming will take place across three key phases:
Phase 1 – Preparation and Storytelling
- Script development with support from Bucks Culture
- Training session with public speaking coach Susan Heaton-Wright (SuperStar Communicator™)
- Filming of 2-minute pitches introducing participating creatives and their projects
Phase 2 – Creative Journeys in Action
- On-site filming at events, workshops, and networking sessions
- Capturing projects in development and the collaborative spirit of the sector
Phase 3 – Reflection and Showcase
- Filmed reflections and final interviews
- Editing and creation of short films for digital platforms
- Community showcase event (in partnership with Fisheye Film)
